Here is my idea, I want input.........the weather is warm, I'm lookin to lose a few pounds, I was thinking of buying a bunch of door hangers and literally poundin the pavement....no door knocking, just leaving them on the door. Saying something to the effect of:

"Final Expense Plans, Immediate Coverage Available, No Medical Exam, Coverage Guaranteed Never to Decrease, Premium Guaranteed to Never Increase, LOWEST RATE GUARANTEE, local agent.

Question #1: is this a crazy idea, obvioulsy I cannot deliver that many in a day compared to a postcard...BUT my costs will be much lower since I'm hoofin it.

Question #2: I live in a city of about $40,000-$50,000. What areas should I target? I obviously don't want to target the "nicest" neighborhoods, but not exactly the ghetto either. Trailor Parks? Sometime they can be a decent place for FE from my experience.

Thanks for any ideas or input offered

I would like to know what others think.

I would say that you FE is not sexy enough to call on unless you hit them at the right time. I would put something else out there. Just my thoughts.

I think you are going down a wrong path. Are you expecting people to call you from the door hangers? It won't happen.
You would do much better knocking on those doors and talking face to face.

I don't think the door hangers will work. However, it may help you lose weight!

Strike up conversations; expose the need.

I agree. I have two agents in Georgia - husband and wife team - and all they've ever done was get a list of folks in the right demographic and go to their door. The list is very cheap and they show up with an air of expectancy, knowing the name, etc. They will only do this three to four hours a day, maximum.

They explain that they are there to introduce themselves as the senior insurance agents in the area (or something similar) and tell them that most of their new clients have been paying too much for their Medicare supplement and final expense policies. They intimate that money would most likely be saved by a quick comparison, which they could do while they're there.

If the person is not interested or does not have the time, they leave their business card and go on their way.

These two are very consistent producers, every week. They also bring annuities and single premium life information in their bag and have made $14,000 in a week with SPWL - all with no lead cost.

That is very cool. Sounds like a cool way to do insurance.

Door hangers suck... Don't waste your time. You don't have a clue how long it will take to put out 1000-5000 door hangers. I did it, DON'T DO IT....
