Online CRMs

I am looking at online CRMs and would like any opinions on vTiger versus Salesforce. (The information I found on the Forum is over a year old.) I am a one man shop, so I would need the fewest bells and whistles. I believe Salesforce starts out at $5 a month while vTiger is $12. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I never used vtiger, but salesforces is really good in for organizing and keeping all your contacts/leads in one place. Salesforce also has very good phone support and training to help you get used to the program. One thing to note is the program can be a little glitchly at times but other than that a solid crm.

Not sure where you got your pricing info, but the $5/mo (which is really $60 for the year, you pay annually), is a very, very limited version of Salesforce. It probably won't do anything useful for you.

vTiger is free, though you can pay if you want. The free version means you run it yourself, which means the $12 a month can be a great deal sometimes :)

Any crm discussion has to start with a list of what you want it to do. There is no correct answer without knowing what you want to accomplish. Lets take an example. For me, a CRM MUST have email templates. I use them extensively.

The $5/mo Salesforce version does not have this. The $25/mo version is where it starts.
The free/$12/mo vTiger does.

Keep working through the list of what is important to you.
Also, consider a few others, such as zoho, freecrm, and many, many others.

Thanks for the feedback - very helpful. Not being too familiar with CRMs, I am not sure of what I could use; but to begin, I thought I would keep to the lowest investment. Would any of these products be more adaptable for insurance sales?

Nutshell does everything I want a crm to and more. It even allows me to track my monthly/ annual production however I want and has an iphone app as well. $10/mo.
