Hello,

I am working on my agency's first flyer. We are a multi-line agency. What are the key elements of an effective P&C Flyer? Also, what are some catch phrases or questions to improve the response? If you have any examples of successful p&c flyers, please feel free to share. Thanks!

Nick :)

Is this a flyer that's going to be mass mailed?

If so, spend the extra money to have it professionally designed, printed, and mailed. There's nothing more embarrassing to get a mass mailer from another agent in a sloppy, hand-stuffed envelope that contains a photocopied flyer made in Wordperfect with a LOT!!! of EXCLAMATION POINTS!! and TPYOS!!! (yes, I've gotten these)

That said, the ROI on printed advertising is astonishingly low. You may want to consider more effective uses of your advertising money.

Have it professional do the design. I find it better to have a main flyer for each service. Instead of promoting every service just promote one service like "auto" and list everything else you do in the background or something.

I would personally use something with a great graphic and a catching phrase. Don't use too much verbiage. You want something that will catch someone's eye without them having to delve into it too much. Otherwise they'll just throw it in the garbage. I used to own a cleaning business and a customer told me she called me from the graphic I chose to use. It caught her attention and she loved it.

I say something about giving them options and having most of my companies logos so they can see the carriers I represent.

Thank you very much guys! I was able to have it designed by my designer and printed on saturday oct 27. Thanks again!

I have sent so many pro flyers and none have got the response I would have liked. That said I still send them and If I get 1 customer per 1000 then thats fine; 2 or 3 gets me to the happy dance.

The main thing I find works is the follow up mailings to the same address 3-4 weeks later then again 5-6 weeks later, switch post card style and look, same message. Keep your brand and name in front of that customer and when the need comes up they will call, it could take months, but stay with it.

Use the USPS every door direct mail system is the cheapest way I've found, but don't overlook walking door to door and using doorknob bags with a pen or pad and the flyer.

Thanks a lot, BighouseRay!

Do you have any suggestions for the exact verbage to use on a doorknob flyer or regular flyer that will get the prospective client to call?

Thanks again.
