P&C Companies Most Open to New Appointments for a New Agency

I am currently in the process of getting everything together to start a new Independent Agency. Home, auto and Commercial are going to be my bread and butter. Who are the best companies to get that are open to giving appointments to a new startup? Any input or info would be greatly appreciated!

I am in Indiana, with plans to also operate in Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida.

I would contact Erie however they don't write in FL.

Reach out to local regionals & whatever carriers you want to get. Have a conversation w/ them first. If they won't appoint, you can look into groups such as SIAA, Superior Access, Smart Choice, Iriquios group etc. I want suggest doing what you can to get direct appointments w/ MULTIPLE insurance carriers.

I don't see you having much luck getting a lot of Florida appointments. A lot of the carriers here are state specific.

SIAA. For sure. You will make better commissions & first dollar bonus/profit sharing. Do your own homework but if you don't already know your local carrier reps from already being in the business an aggregator is the way to go. Get involved with your local iiab. You will start meeting the reps.
