I am new in this business, and I want to sell Commercial Gen. Liability Insurance. I am going to take my exam in FL, but could I sell nationwide?
Also, how do i find a carrier to work with me to do this.

You must be licensed in each state that you place business. If your carrier allows it you would be able to write in all states that they have authority and you have licensing. I have no good company recommendations for you.

P&C are tough appointments to obtain. Generally there are only a couple of carriers that will look at net agent other than a captive carrier like Farmers, Allstate, etc..

Travelers and Hartford will at least entertain the idea of new agent. However you will have to submit a business plan and if they agree to that you will have to meet production and loss/profit margin restrictions.

I think your best bet is to go through a wholesaler initially.

In Florida, you'd do well to sell more than BOPs and CGLs.
