UMPD laws regarding hit and run drivers vary so much from state to state that they're all over the place.

-some states require UMPD to cover hit and run drivers.

-some states prohibit UMPD to cover hit and run drivers.

-some states require that the driver must be identified to file a UMPD claim.

-and as mentioned, some states require a police report.

With Nationwide, didn't get a chance to talk with them today but I forgot we do have the accident forgiveness

Nationwide accident forgiveness is only good once until that accident drops off. it might benefit you to have an estimate independently done before you report a claim so you're not using it if it's really minor and you could fix it yourself.
