Anyone using Packetel online fax service? It's only $3.95 for unlimited incoming faxes to your email. I thinks it works like most others in regards to how your receive them.

Efax works well but I only need the incoming part.

What is their link? I would like to take a look at it.

www.K7.net <----- This is a free. You just set up an account. When someone sends you a fax, it goes to your email box and you can view it or print it out.

Only thing with this, is you have to get at least 1 fax a month, or they will close you account. But if you don't get a fax within 30 days, just send a fax to yourself or something.

206-666-3100 <--- is the fax number that gave me for free that goes straight to my email account.
It saves me a lot of time scanning stuff. I can now just fax something to myself instead of scanning it the old slow way.

I like the fact that it sends you a text to your cell phone when you get a fax.

I think this would work really well for some agents.

I also like k7.net, but you have to get a fax at least once a month or they will delete you and yours will send you a text and do a little bit more for that low cost.

I've been using the packetel service for years. Very reliable. The $3.95 is chump change.

I have used Packtel Fax for a couple of years now. I forward my office fax to their number, and I immediately get a scanned .pdf of the fax. I can attach it to my AMS system, forward it to the underwriter, sent an app to a client... best thing I ever did!

You get to pick the number. They seem to have a good selection, but I can't tell you if they have one in your area.

If I recall, you pick the number before you commit to the charge.

The only somewhat downside is that this is a one-way service (i.e., you only receive faxes, not send). As long as you know that, it works great. Unlimited incoming faxes, works well for those of us who receive a few hundred pages a month. Added benefit is as Jammin said, they come in as pdf's (or tiff's, your choice), ready to be filed away in my paperless system.

Also, if you are not already working this way with scanned faxes, etc. I highly recommed dual monitors so you can have the 'fax' open on one screen and work on the other. No requirement for this, but I find it faster and it keeps me from printing the 'paperless' fax.

Sometimes when I'm being lazy, and I need to scan something in a hurry, I just use one of these scan to email services. It can also save time with scanning stuff.

I think this is a great deal for insurance agents. Either the free service or this service. It is so much cheaper than getting a fax line, fax machine and all the stuff that you need.
