Hi Friends,

I (we) have a several call centers here in Fla. that handle only internet leads and sell Health exclusively. They have hundreds of people on the phones---chasing leads, emailing etc.

I wonder how they will make it with the ACA?

Looks like with 4% they will have to shut down!

Also on the chopping blocks....all reps and Depts that support brokers/agents.

Don't forget anyone performing underwriting, that whole industry dies come Jan 1 when companies are no longer allowed to underwrite...

4% is enough to survive on. Profits may go down, overhead might get cut, benefits may be reduced, and staff may be downsized, but chances are that the company will stick around. Where there is a will, there's a way, even if you've been shot in the foot while doing the right thing.

Well uw's will be needed for the company's that will uw if someone adds a dependent to a grandfathered ifp plan. Florida colored is going to do this.

But of course one uw can handle the department.

Don't forget, health insurance is the only insurance that is dropping underwriting. Life, LTCi etc will still need underwriters.

Don't forget the new tcpa regulations, they might want to start filling out job applications now.

What is a boon coming for the health industry? ancillary products...

You will see health carriers offer small accident and ci policies to offset the holes in obamacare. Want preferred treatment? Have the money? Ancillary products.
That is the only way a carrier can derive larger profits from here on.
