Pre-Need V FE V Life Insurance

There are funeral homes where I'm located where pre-need is not sold using an insurance policy. They are anti-insurance BIG time.

Sometimes they just prepay the whole thing and other times they finance it through the funeral home. No insurance is used.

Other funeral homes like SCI use insurance although I don't know if they do 100% if the time like for those that prepay the whole thing.

There is also a ton of cremation here vs burial.

In Florida, when someone prepays a funeral home and if they later move to another state, the Florida funeral home has to refund the entire principle amount payed in. For that reason most funeral homes use bank trusts and annuities over life insurance.

In most state the Preneed policy just has to be transferred to the new funeral home.
