Previous P&C Sales Rep wants to return to the Industry

Greetings everyone. I am new to this forum.

I was formerly employed in the P&C Insurance industry (sales) for a Direct Writer Co.

I secured the position right out of college. I was a salaried employee who worked directly for the Co., and was placed in an extensive training program.

Times have changed. Computers have taken over many of the functions of underwriting and manual rating procedures.

I left the Industry to pursue work experience in other fields and also to get a Masters Degree.

Now that I'm 40, is it possible to be able to return to the P&C sales field with a Large Co. (not broker)?

Most likely I would need to be retrained and re-licensed.

Today, it's harder to find employment using the Internet and sending resumes through Cyber Space.

I'm working in sales in another industry.

With my many years of work experience, recent 2nd degree, would a Co. like USAA and/or Chubb and Son Inc., hire me?

I don't have contacts with these places and applying on line was unsuccessful. But these Co's seem solid, financially stable, and secure.

I am unable to work in a commission only environment.

I really enjoyed this field, and did well at it. I wonder if Co's have a "Do Not" hire back policy for anyone who left the field.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Hello anyone??? Seeking some advice and feedback.

I've had a few years of a "Lapse in Coverage" with my Insurance Career.

How can I return? (for a Direct Large Co.) Please see my post above.

I have lots of solid work experience and have acquired very relevant "outside" experience.

Ideas, thoughts, opinions (my age; is it too late)???

Probably not to many people here with experience in getting hired back at a salary position for a large company. I have no idea what the answer would be.

If you want to work in a smaller office, you can quickly find work at almost any local agents office. Your experience would be a benefit to the right agent.
