PRIVATE Exchanges Are Where The Action Is!

Thx for the clarification, Lee. From some of the stuff I had read it appeared some of the plans may be MEWA's.

I don't remember Ken as a rep. I thought he was an underwriter in home office.

Kenny is my age and was there with me and left for Hewitt around 1985 or so. You may be thinking of a Ken who was a vp on the pension side, his office was in the same area as Peter Stutts. But who knows.

Someone may have put a MEWA on an exchange, but I highly doubt it. Have a good day.

AETNA is buying a company that supplies technology to private exchanges. Isn't this in conflict with exchanges supposedly being "impartial" to one company or plan?

Excerpt: "Aetna Inc. said it has reached a deal to buy a privately held provider of technology that helps people shop on health-insurance exchanges, which have grown in prominence under the federal Affordable Care Act. Aetna said the deal for the company, bswift, carries a price tag of about $400 million, and is expected to close before the end of this year."

Maybe private exchanges don't have to abide by much of the Affordable Care Act's Exchange regulations.
