I took the first job I could get after I passed my class, i never signed any papers of employment or anything of that nature. I never thought to ask, and, until now, it hasn't been of any importance.

If they take taxes out of your check, you aren't 1099. Simple as that.

You seem like a really pleasant individual. I bet you are just rolling in friends and family.
Please excuse me for not knowing the aforementioned detail. I'm still in school and this is only my third job.

Read my post, it asked how he did not know if he was a 1099 employee or not. I did not ask what the difference between the 2 were.
OK.. Missed the "not"... Old guys do things like that.
