Producers to Play Diminished Role in Exchanges

I wouldn't be surprised if the State received the standard sales commission that would normally be paid to the MGA/GA/Agent. A state would generate FAR more income for itself that way than it would from health insurance agent fees.

Yeah but wouldn't that be affected by the Loss Ratio just like an agents commission? And yes I know even if commission is reduced the state would benefit more by commission than appointment fees.
 
Thats no different to how it is/was in TX right now.

If you get an uninsurable client, they are directed to the State Risk Pool, agent gets zero.
 
GI plans sold in exchanges involving subsidies will be 0% commission. My opinion but it's on the money.

That's how I see it as well. We'll turn into financial managers working only with clients who have money.

Not a bad thing, but there will be a severe weeding out of the insurance agent ranks.
