I love their computer system,
Just added a additional car, and literally within 12 seconds, car added, confirmed and documents emailed to client,

I wish every carrier was this easy!

Easy to sell over the phone and by email. It sends apps by email for signature and requirements straight to the customer. My office staff knocks them out of the park with our personal lines agency. Not bad on commercial trucks/fleets also.
 
Just don't fall in the trap of using them just because they are easy. I purposely use Progressive as a last resort. I don't give a flying f__k if their system is easy or not. In most cases in my area they are not the most competitive priced so agents that have an office full of CSRs that want to do the easy quote loose a lot of business. Their commission is ok at best.

But their software is great and I don't know why other carriers complicate things. I would say the ability to esign and their cross sell feature are great.

Depends on your area. Good credit and they beat everybody in Michigan. Been that way for 15 years.

We have had situations where we have shown a customer a progressive rate and they can go online and get a different rate. Sometimes lower sometimes higher.

With a business model like this, I also use them as a Last Resort aka for my high risk pool.

Why should it bug me? Its no different than quoting against another company......

I wasnt praising the company, just their computer system.:swoon:

The competition with a direct writer is no different than with another agent in my city that also represents Progressive. It is always about prospecting and how you get/respond to leads. Internet, Internet and Internet is how leads work and Progressive's system makes it soooo easy.

They do offer different discounts direct. I have found that your can call or go online direct and get a different quote every time. Nothing beats a professional agent that knows the rating of his Agency's companies. If you talk to the customers you will find that they agree.

Side note.....internet leads are only more successful within a 10-20 mile radius from your office. Outside this, they will go to someone closer. They shop online, but still like a local office/agent.
