Prospects Who Want Quotes Over The Phone

True, but I know some agents automatically quote non-tobacco discount WITH HH discount on everything.

I take the time to ask the tob question and if there is a qualifying spouse. When they say "Your rates are really high" then I ask what THEIR rate is. Then I qualify what the other agent did vs what I did. Most of the time that wins them over.

Sometimes they go stupid on me and say they will buy from the other guy because he has better rates.

OK, go have fun with that. Don't call me back when the first draft hits your bank and it isn't "right"

Georgia has shady agents. North Carolina doesn't. :D

I know....I'm trying to find that middle ground.....if there is one.

I have to do it the way I was trained = set the appointment by phone, present/close in-home

but they want to do it their way = "just give me the quote now/on the phone"

The only solution I can think of from reading yalls responses is partner with an agent who sells by phone/email and split commission (untill I figure out a system to sell a policy to those types of prospects who want it done by phone/email)

Hang up and door knock those peeps.

^you have a good point Hoosier....

These people (this guy in particular) lives about an hour away AND out in the sticks

I was trying to be efficient by setting appointments first but for sure I'm going to just suck it up and door knock them as well.

This is why consistent fresh leads is key. Don't door knock them until you're out there.

Hopefully you're not with one of those shops that rents you your leads for 4 weeks.
