Haha, no. Christina Pellett is the editor for Agent's Sales Journal. She works in my office. I am the editor for Insurance Marketing, which is ASJ's sister publication, but I work with ASJ a lot.
...but I am not too keen on posting my full name on a public forum. If you look inside any copy of IM since August, you can find my name under "managing editor."
I am sorry that you refuse to believe me. I would have absolutely no reason to lie on this board; what could I possibly gain?
I don't know. Why did you come to this board in the first place AND announce that you are an editor of a major magazine? You could have just been anonymous like others here (which I'm against but that's life here in the big city.)
I have invited you several times to look me up in the magazine, but you are not interested in doing so.
That's ridiculous. I don't HAVE your magazine AND you don't have an online edition. Where would I GET your magazine? You are a controlled circulation publication so it is not at my local B&N or Borders.
That's fine. But I don't appreciate being mocked and called a liar.
Then you should have either given your name with your title or not tried to impress us with your importance.
I understand, and acknowledged, that it was crazy for me to think posting my name on an Internet board would cause any harm,
Good. You've learned the first tenant of journalism. Don't try to deceive your reader. You will lose all credibility.
but to me there is a vast difference between having my name and (work) email in a professional publication and posting it on an Internet forum.
And explain to me WHAT that difference is? Sorry, Heather, but I just don't see it. And BTW, your email is NOT posted anywhere on this board that I know of.
I suppose part of me is still very concerned about posting anything personal on unsecure [sic] Web sites.
Somehow I don't see your name as a "state secret" especially when you boast you are a big-time editor.
But I guess all your efforts have paid off because I have given my name.
Thank you.
,I was never trying to hide who I was
You must have gone to the Bill Clinton school of journalism. You want to talk about what the meaning of "is" is?
as I made it perfectly clear that you were free to look me up.
I was wrong above, it must have been the Richard Nixon school of journalism.
I wouldn't have extended that invitation if I was lying.
This was no invitation. With or without your "permission" someone could have looked you up.
Heather, you came off looking like someone who thought she was so important and so high and mighty that it would not be "safe" for her to tell us her name but only her title... so as to impress us.
I'm glad you are here, but believe me, you are not all that important in the industry that by posting your name here you would be inundated with spam or hate mail or requests to join Pre-Paid Legal. Bert Misel maybe. Heather Strickland... not so much.

Heather, if you've read this board for anytime there is one thing you should have learned. Consider the source of the complaint and do what almost all of us have learned to do. Ignore it.
I agree. I think that is very good advice. I've earned my reputation here.
