Question on Internet Leads

Whenever I get a lead, I call the lead, some are actual people wanting a quote, my question is, I can give an estimate, but my price is going to be 3-400$ high, to give a proposal, I need a SSN, to get an accurate price, does anyone else have issues with getting SSN for quotes.

This is simple to solve. Move to a state that doesn't use credit scoring!

It's the same as giving a quote without pulling an MVR. Rates subject to change depending on how honest you are. Personally, I don't care about your driving record or credit, my job is to get you insured at a fair rate for the risk.

Social security numbers is one of those things that you ask for without thinking about it, people provide it. If you are somewhat timid in asking, you won't be able to pry it out of them.

All that said, what I do is use the approach:

"My job is to provide you with as accurate a quote as possible. I like to be thorough so the quote I give you is what you will actually pay. I hate trying to explain changes later. Now, it's up to you, I can pull all the information I need to quote this correctly, such as driving and risk history, or I can plug in some generic numbers based on some questions. Which do you prefer?"

Everyone wants an accurate quote (or why are they talking to you). Not everyone admits this upfront. Once they want an accurate quote, I ask them for the drivers license number, date of birth, social security number, etc.

Rarely does anyone object. When they do, I just move on with guesses until I get their commitment to buy, hang up or walk out.

It appears I get 50/50 that will give it to me, I will give that a try. Thanks

I tell them I have to have it to check their MIB (medical info bureau) for their health records.

No auto insurance company is going to insure you if they don't know if you have 3 dwi's or not without checking your driving record, same with health insurance.

If you sell strictly health insurance then there is no need to ask for a SSN right away in order to give an accurate initial quote (at least in most states that I know of). Treat a DUI just like many of the other things that you will ask specific questions about on the application. Many times there are waiting periods on DUI's that may be up soon so always smart to show the quotes first and then drill down with the client about specifics that could affect the quoted rate and their eligibility for health insurance (assuming you can show quotes for many different companies with just a few clicks by using Norvax or Quotit or something and you aren't stuck back in 1997 running all of your quotes manually).

Has anyone tried ileads.com, insuranceleads.com or longtermcareinsleads.com?

Also, I looked at insureme.com and they look cheap but I have not heard great things about them.

I am trying to find a decent one that is at least somewhat consistent.

Thanks,

IX-Nay on the ileads.com. Of course they tell you how they do not buy leads from affiliates and that they generate all their own leads... NOT. Of coruse they tell you that no more than 3 or 4 agents will be sold the leads... NOT. I had prospects tell me they were contacted 15 and 20 times. They cap their credit policy at 20% of your leads, no matter if ALL the numbers were disc... They were some of the worst leads that I worked, overall. ileads.com are crap, IMO.

The only plus to ileads.com is that the sales gal was pleasant, professional and very nice. I feel for her, having such a lame product.
