What is the biggest dislike you have about working in the field?

  • Sitting in traffic for hours every day when working in town.
  • Stinking of stale cigarette smoke and cat piss at the end of every day.

What is the biggest thing you like about working in the field?

  • Never knowing what or who you are going to see next
  • That feeling you get when you close even the smallest deal
  • Actually being able to help somebody make a good decision for once in their lives.

How has the FE business changed your life?

It's given me sometime to rely purely on myself for success or failure. Coming from managing 60 plus employees every day this life is way simpler overall. Leads + good old hard work = almost guaranteed success.

Did you transition from one form of insurance into FE and why?

Nope. Never ever thought that I would end up pushing insurance.

Was a mortgage protection agent prior to FE. Lots of late nights.

Well, first let me start out by saying this is a brutal business where only the mentally elite will survive. If you get frustrated easily this job is definitely not for you. The toughest part of the job is handling cancellations and chargebacks because if the customer does not pay you do not get paid and a lot of people in the Fe demographic are not very good with money and lack commitment to anything! The best part is for sure being 100 percent free of any type of deadlines and such. Fe has shown me that Jesus Christ is the only salvation. Ones who do not have a strong belief are usually in complete misery and have no need for final expense.

If your major source of income is derived from selling FE policies, as is mine, its awfully hard not to be a racist. That sentiment was also acquired from 19 plus years in the car business and about 14 in the mortgage business. the 5 and a half years in college pointed me in that general direction.

In a nutshell, if your a salesman and don't consider yourself a racist, you should probably pay more attention.

As far as the likes and dislikes of selling FE. There isn't really all that much to like about the job. 75% of the people I meet with are not all that smart; in fact they are kind of dumb. 85% don't own their own home or even a computer for that matter. Yet that same 85% will somehow make their payments, somewhat on time, for the first 9 months.

In reality, I still get a kick out of selling something when the odds were stacked against me. I also like it when you are having a bad day and your last stop turns into a home run.

I really enjoy Thursday afternoon when your driving home after selling 8 or 9 policies in two days and know you have the next 5 days off.

Other than that the job really doesn't have that much to offer!

I find myself in this profession for one basic reason. The mortgage business went to hell.

Sinful nature is always hostile to God...it is not about "religion" or "Hail Mary" but about Jesus Christ...just sayin

I sure am learning a lot about the OP's questions - NOT!

Yeah you're right of course. I just thought maybe Galt really wanted answers to his questions, and I for one would be interested to know, too.

I'm sorta surprised because Galt is one of the more prominent posters so I thought he'd get serious answers, not the B.S. this devolved into.

Guess I'm naïve.

(Wow! Autocorrect put the double dot above the i ! I didn't do that. Wouldn't even know how. I don't even know what it's called for that matter.)
