Questions for the Down and Dirty Agents...

What do I like? Making good money for not a lot of hours, no boss, flexibility. (One day we need to discuss how many Indy agents do poorly when they have a boss looking over their shoulder.)

What I don't like? No-shows, nasty smelly houses, crazy stupid people! I had all of those today.

Only had four appointments today. One called to cancel. The first one no showed. The second one smelled horribly. She had three or four dogs and there was dog piss and crap on the floor everywhere. She was also looking for a free government handout. She had a few paid up policies and no money.

The last appointment takes the cake. I read the card back to her, gave her the three reasons and then I asked why she sent the card in.

This leads into a discussion about her dog, walking her dog, walking on other people's dogs' crap in the grass and in the end the reasons she sent the card it was so that I could find her a tax free house and wanted us to pay for 100% of it.

Only in the FE world! :D:D

Just curious, but did you check the cash values in those to see if you could get her a new single premium that would have more face? Sometimes it will work, usually depending on the age of the policies.

Nope I had to get out of that house as fast as possible.

Some of these people use the postcards to pick up the dog poop. Then they fill them out and send them in. That's why some of them are stained.

hey win417

I dont really know what your referring to. Basicly selling FE is a major pain in the ass. The only good things are the money, the freedom and occasionaly you get to help nice, good people.

For the most part the job sucks. It is a job that most sane, normal people would never want to do.

I sure am learning a lot about the OP's questions - NOT!

For those who've forgotten, here is the original post:

These question is for those that write a minimum of $3000 per week in business each and every week, Im proud to say Im in that club, but I digress....

What is the biggest dislike you have about working in the field?

What is the biggest thing you like about working in the field?

How has the FE business changed your life?

Did you transition from one form of insurance into FE and why?

IMO's feel free to jump in as well, I know a lot of you can give sage answers you hear from your field force.

Yeah you're right of course. I just thought maybe Galt really wanted answers to his questions, and I for one would be interested to know, too.

I'm sorta surprised because Galt is one of the more prominent posters so I thought he'd get serious answers, not the B.S. this devolved into.

Guess I'm naïve.

(Wow! Autocorrect put the double dot above the i ! I didn't do that. Wouldn't even know how. I don't even know what it's called for that matter.)

No one is immune in the devils playground:no:

You mean to tell me after 216 agents have viewed this thread none of you are down and dirty? C'mon people, lets get engaged.

1. Bed Bugs. Really, stripped down to my drawers in the middle of the street, threw away a nice leather brief case and did it in front of a new agent. Have to love South Baltimore

2. Freedom

3. Never had the financial freedom like I do now

4. Was doing MTG Protection/annuities/FE to mainly doing FE then picked up medicare down the road
