Quick Medicare Supp Question

There are way less provider issues or billing issues with Med Supps than there are with MA's. Usually a Med Supp billing issue is because the provider used the wrong code.

I've never heard a complaint from any of my few folks about problems with Medicare not paying their docs.

I only ask because everyone here moans about a single-payor system, and Medicare is almost that.

The reason it's efficient is NOT because of that legendary federal government efficiency...it's because of for-profit business.

There is no Medicare claims department. It is contracted to TPAs who are for-profit businesses. Here in Florida it's done by BCBSFL.

So much for "single-payor".
