Quoting Sites

Are there any quoting sites that will allow you to add riders and vary UW rates? Neither Norvax or Quotit allows this. I'm not interested in clients going to my site for quotes, looking for an easier way for me to gather quotes rather than go to each carriers quoting programs. So far I haven't found a solution. Suggestions?

Seems like Insurint has that capability. Can't say where they are in development now. Last time I checked they don't have a consumer gateway.

I basically ran a number of batches of different styles of quotes to find out which of my carriers is best suited for various types of clients. Doesn't take long to realize who has the deals on straight copay, HSA or prescription plans - whatever the case may be.

As far as comprehensive online systems for filtering plans and adding riders, etc. I believe the companies have tables that can be downloaded and there is a way to pull and use that data with a custom database app, but I haven't gotten there yet, but it's on my long life of things to do. ;)

I believe Insurint has that ability to generate "custom rated" proposals manually, but only on the producer side.

Before I had quoting software I would send out an Excel spreadsheet with rates based on my best estimate of the final rate. Also included notes on riders for each quote.

I eventually realized that it was a waste of my time and confusing to prospects. Consumers generally don't pay much attention to detail, even when you spend quite a bit of time explaining options and why each carrier underwrites differently.

After spending upwards of 30 minutes putting together a "custom" proposal I would get "I found it cheaper on eHealthinsurance" (or some agents site).

Your experience might be different, but now I give out only general information until I feel a relationship exists.

Thanks for the input. Chumps, I have Norvax and I quoted a case the other day and wanted to add maternity on BC, didn't see a place to add. In addition, for GR I wanted to add the 5 mill lifetime option and no limit on drugs , no where to add or change to standard 2.
My leads are a little different, most are not shopping and will do what I recommend so I attempt to give best guess so there won't be sticker shock.
In addition, canceling my Norvax website and looking for a reasonably priced website, any suggestions?

Blue, give me a call when you get a bit. I may or may not be able to help you on the quoter, but I have a good deal on the website I can set you up with. Toll free is 866-532-2630 or direct to me, Mitch, is 913-220-2628. (I swear I won't bug you to death if you call) :goofy:

"reasonably priced website"

Based on my unbiased experience, I recommend Val (Valdet) from the Forum. Great to work with and is one of the most hands-on website builders there is. He'll build you a quality website...not a cheap one.

And just to clarify...I am NOT in the website-building business and have NO agenda. I receive no compensation from Val and don't expect any.

I'm talking $350 to $1000 depending on SEO options. I have seen a lot of agents on here pay a LOT more for sites that sometimes don't even compare. I don't get paid from this either, but we promote a lot of services that are either free or less expensive than the alternatives, with no compensation.

Dang it Chumps, why you gotta always say you're not getting paid by these folks? It makes me feel bad, since you are the best spokesmodel I know on here. :twitchy:

By the way, Chumps. You got Indy or the Saints?
