Request Agent Commissions if Needed?

I'm working a large group (approx. 800 lives). The dental carrier has asked that along with the obvious census data I acquire, that I should "request agent's commission, if needed".

What is that particular request about? Is he asking for me to name a certain percentage I'd be looking to be paid or what? It may sound strange, but I've worked other large accounts and I've never been asked that question.

Any valid insight helps. Thanks!

Yes, they are asking you want you want to make.

As you know the client will see your comp.

Thanks, my friend! As obvious as it seems, I've never had it posed that way - kind of embarrassing, really. Have a great day, ABC!

If you ask for a higher than avg comp the carrier will make the group sign off on it.

Sometime the carriers will release a proposal without your comp in it. That is why its important to be in constant communications with the quoting carriers.
