Request for Sam

Perhaps implement the old ANSI text standard for individually colored and BLINKing characters? :nah:

Since the request was made without any suggestions or solutions, maybe I can try to help.

Personally I think ONE banner is no big deal unless you are running porn or something offensive. I hate to admit I have largely blocked that portion of the screen out of my brain at this point. This board is very clean, it does not bother me.

One suggestion I thought of the other day was a 1X per month board newsletter you could send via PM even. This could be a very large revenue maker as a lot of companies (mine included) would consider sponsorship position yet it would not impact the look or feel of the board.

Just a thought - once you make your first million off the idea I better get mod privileges! Lol...

Enjoy.

I'd also help sponsor a newletter which is a good idea. Sam could have an opt-in newsletter on the site and a lot of people who don't post would subscribe.

I guess I don't understand what the big deal is. I didn't even notice that a banner was there until someone posted a thread about it. I have no idea when it first appeared.

As far as I'm concerned Sam can put up as many as he wants. This isn't my board and I don't pay the expenses. I'm just tickled to death that Sam started it and lets me play here.

This is Sam's company, why do so many people feel so free in telling Sam how to run it? Has Sam told any of us how to run our business and then get upset (pissed off even) if we don't do what he tells us to do? How rude and ignorant of some people.

I think the news letter may have promise but, who is going to write it and select the topic matter. Oh, here's a huge one, who is going to edit it???? You talk about some pissing and moaning if people don't get what they want, I think this would do it.

When it comes to agents going around and around...I have to admit I do enjoy it to a point.

If we all got along, there would be no spice in here. Of course, keeping the right amount of spice can be a challenge, but so far so good.

Off the subject but kind of related...you ever notice that on reality shows they never say how many votes that the contestants received? I am sure that they producers have some influence on who stays and who goes to do just that...keep some drama on the show for ratings.

Who really wants to watch a bunch of people get along?

Because most successful people are type A alpha-male and you put those types all together you're gonna get horns locking. Again, beer and popcorn and there's no better free entertainment.
