I know of one in VT who is working full time for a fire department in CT and part time for one here in VT. Commute to the FT job must suck, and it's a lot of hours all things considered.

I'm not going to disclose his income here, but it's not bad. I will also note I have a far better gig going, IMO.

100k per year is not a lot given the risks they must take....and you can make a lot more in insurance sales, with the biggest injury risk being a paper cut!

I know a number of Vets and retired Military that are agents. E1 pay is about $1,500 a month, On call 24/7/365. No union.
