1) That shiite is over. Their asse is grass and Trump is a lawnmower - and he has congress on his side. If the cities want their bucks- and they are all broke- they will need to smarten up right off. Joe Sixpack the local voter will want to know why we are losing even more money for ignoring the law and the crime situation from illegals is not all that good, EH? Trump doesnt even need Congess because, as we learned under Obama, Executive Orders are the way to go on everything. Git er done!

2) This shiite will just go on forever. Most of the local politicians in those cities get their votes by convincing their constituents that they are Che Guevera so the more conflict the better. And the feds allegedly have no authority to require the municipals to implement federal law. Digging in hard for the illegals is a way to say Eff-U to Trump and to be liberal in the midst of this conservative nightmare. Everyone in these cities is a lefty so they will just fly the Mexican and Venezuelan flags in support and the problem will just drag on until people accept this as reality. That approach has worked pretty well in other areas of immigration law. "Illegal aliens are the backbone of this country" and are what help to keep our society vibrant so the cities will want to have even more. The hell with Trump- no one in a sanctuary city voted for him anyway. And our city is so broke that we stopped worrying about money long ago so you can't threaten us with that type of thing.

Nice theory - except the "economic engine" parts/voters of the blue states are not always the same parts that supported Clinton, eh? Often you have business communities/big corporations that need to be located in an area for strategic purposes and they are what drive the gdp for that state up. And then they are surrounded by hordes of lefties trying to suck the blood out of every dollar they make- which works until the corporation relocates and it doesnt work anymore.


Sure, there could be some disruptions/rocky times if lefty local governments are curtailed/contained but don't be surprised if the producing people in those states also cheer it on. It will all depend on how Trump handles himself. He has to be tough but not get too ugly. The santuary city folks want to make Mexico Great Again, and Trump wants to Make America Great again and to promote the idea that mexico and america are two separate countries. As long he stays with those themes he will be okay and pick up more support.

Strategic reasons, absolutely. IBM ain't hiring the poorly educated. It would be wise for trump to consider which side of the bread the butter is on in the country before he starts messing with security and transportation funding. Things can go bad real quick.

You have to hand it to Orange and his Democrat ilk, they are thinking ahead, and cultivating a new constituency of voters, longing for the day when you don't have to be a citizen to vote.

It is interesting too the way the lefties- Orange being Exhibit A- continually assert the need to have an educated workforce yet advocate an open border immigration policy whose intended or unintended purpose is to flood this country with uneducated and/or unskilled labor. Of course, we have sort of loss ground there to the point where many of us would just be happy to have immigrants that don't want to kill us.

And as a result of their immigration policy, the working class in this country has no bargaining power because there is always a pool of cheap labor coming in to do their job for less- that is if they have not already sent their job to the immigrant's home country through their brilliant trade policies.

Not sure that Hillary is the one to fix all this - or their other fallen hero, Fidel Castro.

Bargaining power: Giving the undocumented people working here a path to citizenship would be a solution to undercutting wages. Don't forget the largest migration of undocumented workers happened under Bush and republican controlled congress. They had all the power they needed to secure the border and undertake penalties for employers that hire undocumented workers. They supported the cheap labor because of the artificial housing boom Bush initiated when they expanded sub prime mortgages Fannie and Freddie could issue to almost 40%. But I digress.

Bush returned more illegals than Obama did. Bush returned over eight million through simple returns. You catch them coming across the border - you load em up in the buses and send them back.

Obama did more formal deportations but fewer returns.

Net net. The number of undocumented getting booted out was far, far greater under Bush.


And the influx of immigrants was suppressed under Obama because the economy was so poor. Even had a lot more voluntrary returns.


You have just supported Hillary for years in a trance-like state and Hillary was 100% in favor of 100% open borders- anything goes. So why would you even bother to get into the business of trying to make the case about who did or did not deport more as though deporting more was a good thing and your ilk would be doing more. That's nuts.

It doesn't matter as much right now anyway. I know you have a lot of energy and full program for defending Obama's legacy. Right now people want to hold Trump accountable for improving the situation. Or after Jan 20 anyway. We are all pretty sure that if Trump reduces the flow of illegals bigly that you would be arguing that Obama did better. That's fine- your ilk has no power right now and we will deal with all your bogus claims in the next election, especially if Hillary is running again.

Don't spread yourself too thin. You have to defend his lack of action on ISIS -other than this latest campaign stunt to help Hillary, his failure to bring about a real wage increase, his failure to achieve employment in any way other than getting people to drop out, his complete and total failure to implement a functioning health insurance program, his failure to stand up to Iran, Russia, and China, his failure in Afg, and his complete failure to implement a debt reduction plan. So dont blow all your energy on this immigration thing. You have an entire legacy that is in the toilet that you need to protect.
