"Scarlet Letter" for TX APTC Recipients?

The Lawyers should love this...just think how many discrimination lawsuits against providers they will be able to file now that all my clients have been branded like cattle.

Good luck with winning that. Nothing prohibits providers from only accepting certain coverage or forms of payment.

Then again, winning isn't the concern, it's all about those billable hours. I'm sure there will be no shortage of people up in arms and ready to sue when they get turned away.

Todays update as it heads to the TX Senate:

House Bill 1514 by Rep. J.D. Sheffield, M.D. (R-Gatesville) was approved by the House following the adoption of one amendment. The version of the bill approved by the House Insurance Committee required that health plan identification cards include "QHP" or "QHP-S" to indicate the enrollee is covered by a health insurance exchange plan and/or receives a premium subsidy as part of the Affordable Care Act. The amendment removed the mandate to add the "QHP-S" indicator. The bill now advances to the Senate for consideration.
