Do you hold any securities licenses along with your insurance licenses?

I use to but I have let them lapse. They are not worth it in my opinion.

I have my 7 and 66. Some days I think it's worth it and others I don't. LOTS of headaches, hassles and expenses for compliance because of it. But it's also nice to sit down with a client and be able to say you're licensed to handle whatever it is they need done.

Having your securities licenses or not having them is definitely NOT the difference in whether or not you make it in this industry. In other words, if you can make it with one of the licenses you can make it with the other. If you can't make it with one of the licenses you won't make with the other.

FWIW the majority of my business is non-securities related.

Am curious to see the overlap between the financial advisor market and the insurance agent market. Seems like most people who have a securities license, also have insurance licenses, but most insurance focused agents do not have a securities license.
