Sell Auto Insurance Independently In Texas

I am wondering the best way to go about selling auto insurance independently in Texas. I am currently P&C licensed but am interested on focusing on the auto side of the business. I know places like Goosehead hires but am looking to either attach myself to something like that or just write business through some independent platform?

I am not a TX guy - but am P&C in personal. There are really usually three ways to focus on Auto:
1. Personal Auto with the Home
2. High Risk Personal Auto [DUIs, First Time Drivers, ETC]
3. Commercial Auto

Are you thinking of one of these routes? Because it wil matter where you turn next.

So I run a state inspection business for cars and trucks. I see like 15 insurance cards per day and just see an opportunity to have my own set up where I can quote lower rates. I guess I am just trying to figure out how to do that.

I think a good question might be: Does it make more sense to sell this myself as an insurance agent, or refer it out to an agent and receive some form of lead generation fee?

Keep in mind that its one thing to quote, sell, and issue a policy and entirely different matter of servicing insurance policies. Every auto change, every loan ammendment, every endorsement, each and every kid's license addition and college moves, accidents, claims, questions, divorces, and daily EOIs might be a lot more than you understand. Lastly when you pick up a client with the intention of saving them money - you have willingly picked clients that are more focused on costs. Costs to Join and Costs to Leave you.

Best of Luck

So I already do the lead generation fee but the brokerage that I refer out to isnt very good it seems. Maybe I just need a new broker to refer out to.
