Semi-Newbie looking for FE advise

I've been looking through the final expense forum for a few weeks now and finally decided to join. I'm currently a young ICA agent with United Healthcare's MAPD and PDP programs and that has gone very well but I was thinking the natural next step would be offering FE. I'm aware enough to know what IMO's / insurance companies I wouldn't contract with (Lincoln Heritage) but I'm having a hard time sorting out what IMO meets my needs and will help meet clients needs. I don't know much about the FE/Life insurance industry so access to top-level training is very important to me. Any advice is welcomed and appreciated. BTW what an excellent resource this forum is, I'm hooked.

Good luck in your journey! There are a lot of really great folks on here who can help you. My advice is that you find a solid lead program and invest in your business, access as much training as you can get your hands on, and go out and work. You may make mistakes, but that is how you learn.

Make sure you have an upline that will answer your calls and help you underwrite if needed. I'd also suggest finding a successful producer in your area and arrange some ride alongs.

This is truly a wonderful business, and the opportunity is truly unlimited. Feel free to reach out if you ever need any help!

A big factor in the process is finding out who has the lead area open in your counties you want to work. The good IMO's are not going to stack agents on top of more agents. I would first narrow it down to 1. Who has an opening for set cost direct mail leads in your area 2. Is competitive on commissions 3. Has the companies that you want to sell (you don't want to be limited to higher prices than your competitors - like the one you already mentioned.) 4. Has a history of training successful producers 5. Just feels right when you talk with them.

Steps 1, 2 and 3 are very easy to compare and once you screen out for those three you will be down to a very short list. Probably just one or two good choices. Once you are down to just a few to select from make your best judgement on steps 4 & 5 and then jump in 100%

Scootch make sure to check out 360. They have been making big moves in the Medicare market and have the most top producers in the country. Since you already do Medicare it should be a smooth transition. Most imo's like fex dont suport the Medicare market and focus only on fe. So to reciece top life advice especially training that includes transitioning from one to the other 360 would probably be a best fit.

LOL! We'll defiantly have to proof of that before anyone will believe it! They've been involved in the Medicare side for about a year now and they already have the top producers in the industry?

Even the biggest IMO/FMOs couldn't do that! Try again!

True. I definitely worded that incorrectly. 100% not intentional. Trying to get 2 points across at the same time. What I meant was they are moving into the Medicare market while having some of the top agents in the country in fe. I didnt specify that the top agents in the country were fe and it really wasnt intended to read the way I could see how your taking it. So no need to try again. Simple human error. And top agents in the country for fe is surely a fact. :)

Depends on what you mean by support. If an agent just needs competitive companies, free access to the full CSG Medicare quoter and an Upline that has sold a bunch of Medicare supplements and Advantage we've had those boxes all checked for a long time. I personally trained from scratch the #1 Aetna Med Sup agent in the state of Indiana a few years ago. Married her too.
