Senior life trying to charge me debt with no business written!

After seeing some really competitive quotes in insurance toolkits, I contracted with senior life in May this year to have in the tool chest in case it was ever the best fit. I never wrote a single policy. I received a termination email with a debt amount of $300. They won’t respond about what this debt could possibly be for. Who has some advice on this?
 
Thanks for the response Millwood. I tried to find my contract and cannot. I know I saved it, I save every contract, and it’s the only one I can’t find. The only thing I can think of is that when I started they uploaded leads into my portal. Leads I never worked or wanted, I purchase my own life leads and had no interest in them. If I am remembering correctly, there was 30. And if they were $10 a pop, that would explain. I’ve been trying to get a hold of them for over a month now to try to figure out why the debt and I don’t even know why I was terminated. I’ll report back if I find out.
 
Look in your copy of the contract you signed.
I'll bet there is fee in it for their time and supplies if you quick term with no production. I'll also bet they didn't verbally disclose it.
If you find it does, share back with us on the forum.
Contracts do not have to be "verbally" discloses or discussed in 2024 . . .

Sounds like a miscommunication with your manager. There was a period of time earlier this year where new agents started with 30 fresh FB leads at $10 each. It was designed to give agents a kick start to their career. And it was for telesales agents. Sounds like your manager did not tell you? Or maybe forgot?

Thank you for clarifying. That’s right, my manager never asked me if I wanted them or said they cost anything. Still, the fact that senior life does not respond and gives me no reason for termination or an explanation of debt does not sit well. I absolutely do not feel I should have to pay that $300 when I wasn’t given an option to receive them or not.

Your termination letter should have given you the reason for termination, it's usually for "lack of production". I'd tell your manager that you would pay the $300 as soon as you get those leads from your agent portal. Then go work them. Even though they have a few months of age all it takes is one sale to recoup your $300.

How about they charged him for something he was never told about, never wanted and NEVER received

Maybe NOT charging him is the more appropriate thing?
 
Update: Senior life finally responded. Interesting. The charge was for MANDATORY leads uploaded into every new agents portal. I was never given a choice to get them or not.
And, my contract was terminated at the request of my manager, who I don’t even know and never spoke to.
What a joke.
to the senior manager above, I appreciate your response. I know you are trying to help with a resolution while still standing by your company.i respect that. But, senior life uploading mandatory leads into an agents portal and charging for them, while saying that they are be given and not mentioning agents will be charged for them is wrong and a very sneaky and shameful business practice. Glad to hear they aren’t doing it anymore.
