What are ya'll SEO guru's opinions on these tools, which are worth upgrading to PRO (paid versions)?

It looks to me like TT is worthless for keyword research, I did a search for a term I am #8 for which get's 140 local searches according to google keyword tools, TT didn't pull up any stats for the keyword....

Samurai, scrapebox, other link fluffers like xrumer. I also wrote myself some cool custom php scripts.

Custom work is best if you can write it. That way you aren't just doing the same thing as everyone else.
