I just got an email from one of my MA carriers that informed all agents that because of some errors (minor, they say) in the ANOC/EOC distributed last fall, that CMS is requiring an SEP to run from 2/1 to 3/31 and all affected members were to get a letter about this.

Did any other of you guys see this?

Since I'm not doing them anymore, I don't know the details, but, I did get a notice from UA that something was in the works because of an mail error.

Also with Wellcare, CMS did something about extending the SEP to get a stand alone PDP or pick up an MAPD thru Jan. 31. With them, it apparently wasn't explained properly that people that were on PFFS MAPD plans that were ending 12-31-09 had to get a PDP or another MAPD during AEP. It may be extended further according to an agent I spoke with today that is still dealing with that stuff.

It seems the Wellcare PFFS enrolles that were in MAPD's were under the impression that they would just be moved to a Wellcare stand alone PDP if they did nothing.

Just another terrific mess caused by lock-in.

What's the point of a SEP from 2/1 to 3/31? That's still OEP. Unless they've already switched once during OEP, they still have one election available.

Which company was this?

Yes, it would help those folks make another switch, but, the most impact is on PDP's.
