I have an extremely simple SEP question, so naturally I have gotten three different answers from UHC.
How long does a client have to enroll in an SEP plan when they move.
So far I have the following answers to choose from:
1) 90 days
2) 63 days
3) depends on whether and when the client gave notice to their old MA plan before they moved.
Yeh. It is simple and I should know but it would be frigging nice if they knew too.
Am I right or wrong in thinking that the time allowed is independent of when they did or did not disenroll from the old plan. That the clock starts when they move. Example, if someone moved four months ago but never notified their old MA carrier and is still enrolled then they are out of luck when the old plan is dropped because the clock still ticked from their move date. Yes/No ?
