Hey guys,

This forum has been of great value for me for product knowledge & sales information. I am grateful to everyone who has answered my questions both on the forum & via pm. I joined this forum when I was new to the FE field. Now I consider myself fairly experienced. I do not consider myself to be a Top producer but I am certainly the most improved version of myself.
I have seen a lot of agents posting questions on this forum & I thought my post would bring some value for them. I am aware of the fact that new agents have a great deal of choices when it comes to joining IMO's & getting competitive contracts. Contract levels are obviously important but in my observation not many agents give the equal degree of importance when seeking a reputable mentor.

I personally do not anyone who got exceptional success in their field without any kind of training or mentorship. This applies to any field ranging from sports, arts & even in sales.

When I was seeking for an IMO my main priority was training & in my experience it is difficult to find a solid trainer in FE Sales. I spoke with numerous IMO's over the phone & they would always speak highly about their discounted lead programs, Tele-marketed leads available at discounted rates & at the very end they would mention they have some training audios/ videos on their website.

Whenever I would ask about mentorship, ride-alongs & ongoing training, there would be an awkward silence & most IMO recruiters responded in a condescending way "We don't provide any hand holding".

Then there were some IMO recruiters who would finally fill in the awkward silence by saying, "ok.... we can arrange a ride along but then your commission levels would be much lower etc."
After interacting with countless people over the phone & some in person I am fortunate this year I was finally able to find a great trainer at Final Expense Bootcamp, Shannon Davey. After receiving some phone coaching, watching his training videos, this past month I had a significant improvement in my production.
When I spoke to Shannon for the first time over the phone he was very courteous & attentive. When I asked him about the coaching & training he enthusiastically responded "Of course that's my job". He did not tell me that he would charge me for his training nor did he tell me he would offer me lower contract levels which I had under a different IMO.
His sales coaching has been invaluable for me. He has always been available whenever advice was needed infield or regarding any sales situation.
Shannon's sales style is all about making the client feel comfortable so they lose their guard are open to the idea of receiving help. Throughout the internet & in sales books people are able to find numerous types of closing methods which are all great, but Shannon's style is focused more on having a presentation where the client is able to see the emotional value in the product so that objections can be prevented later on when providing quotes to the client.
There will always be objections in any sales meeting however; they can be minimized if the presentation is a powerful one.
So far I have had one, 1 on 1 personal coaching call with Shannon where the focus of the call was the mindset, attitude & fundamentals of the business. I really wish I received this call when I first started in the FE field. He has offered more 1 on 1 calls to me which I haven't been able to schedule due to my schedule. I have listened to his group conferencing calls which have great motivational & educational value. Furthermore, I have also been offered to fly to his hometown in San Antonio to watch him making appointments & go in the field with him.
Furthermore, his advice about goal setting has been very helpful as well. Throughout my interactions with him he has been very patient with me in terms of helping me find new carriers because my previous IMO only released one of my contracts.
In conclusion I'd like to say there are some well -reputed IMOs on this forum but if somebody is looking to improve their skillset as a FE salesman I would highly encourage them to check out Finalexpensebootcamp.com.

He is reporting something and someone that he has found helpful. Don't think he is going to personally profit from it. I don't see this as being any different than the guys that recommend FEX, 360, Todd, etc.

Here is my 2cents... Shannon brought me into the FE business 3 years ago after thirty years in the auto business. With his coaching and mentoring and with EFES 's consistent leads I submitted over $500k the first 24 months. I think they are both first class. Times are a changing and business models move accordingly. Time will tell what the new formats will bring but I have total confidence both parties will continue to to massive amounts of business. Much thanks to Shannon And the gang at EFES!!
 
First I want to say I really like Shannon. Have no problem with him. I am curious though...you say you speak to other IMOs and when you ask for field training they say they don't do hand holding. I didn't read anything in your post about Shannon giving you field training...unless I missed it. I understand what he did helped you, but in the end IT WAS YOU!!!

I can show an agent 5,000 times how to close a deal but if they don't leave their house, they won't close any. I talked to an agent today that had been calling leads and had not got ONE APPOINTMENT. He was trying to get me to help him with his presentation on the phone. I explained to him that the presentation wasn't his problem. You have to get in a house to give a presentation. Told him to grab the leads and go door knock and I told him the best way to do it.

Training is very important. But the agent has to be willing to go out and do it. I can personally say "since this seems like an offers section now" at 360 you get the training recordings, the training calls, the group text for all questions, FIELD TRAINING, discounted leads, great contracts, ect....So honestly FunGuy I think the reason you are successful now is because of you. You are willing to do what others won't!

I'll second that!

I've learned so much from the EFES model and I respect Shannon and learned a lot from his training recordings.
