Short and Sweet

I realize there are threads re: this topic-but neat to hear from you that care to share your wisdom

As a new agent just starting out in this business (according to you) what is the best avenue in getting the "old" feet wet"? No MLM i.e NAA, or others...good old fashion smart suggestions. A challenge I know, but for me not knowing the product(s) within life & health....not knowing exactly where the customer will originate from other than word of mouth. Limited funds to start with etc.....need support - I will take advantage of IHIAA...and thus far enjoy reading the various topics here.

Priorities for me= support, training, fairly good lead system, in's & out of how contracts, commissions, & the like work. I want to approach my new career right & not haphazardly. Though I realize mistakes will arise along the way. Again thanks for your time

You seem to have a realistic view. This business is about prospecting and getting in front of the right people for the products you sell. How you do that depends on what you are comfortable with. Reading on this site you will find a lot of different strategies. Many of the folks here use the phone and a targeted list and dial for dollars. I started out as an independent with preset appts and then moved to seminars, direct mail and now am primarily referral, internet leads, and direct mail focused, buy you have to establish a client base to get to this point.

Good luck. There is a lot of valuable info on this site and some of it will help you avoid the more common mistakes many of us have made.

Read the threads re: this topic.

I did it, and it worked for me. You should find every possible suggestion/answer to every question you have.

Short and sweet.
