Anybody ever run across SILAC? I have never head f them. They replaced two PFA policies I wrote in January? I have not seen their numbers yet. I am just trying to get an idea on what to look for.

They aquired Equitable Life and Casualty and closed out their medicare book. I just canceled my med supp with them. Their website doesn't show they currently sell anything but annuities.

I called and they said they did sell life and transferred me to the life dept., Nobody answered!

If you wrote PFA for someone before their July 1 price hike, and if they're a non-smoker, I don't think anyone can touch their price. Should be easy to save IF you can get back in. I've had an alarming number of pre-July 1 PFA policies get replaced by agents telling the insured that they've never heard of PFA and/or they're a sham company, etc. Easy to save if you can get back in, but impossible if you can't. Not like you can point to PFA's tv or magazine ads to bolster their reputation.

Last night had a client call asking if Trustage went out of business . An agent trying to replace it told him that . Agent showed him moo . But he said he likes his agent . He’s made 12 payments . I said we “ you rather have Aflac “ He yes I love them had them at work . Thanks dumb ass agent you made me $1300 . Aflac has possibly the strongest name in ins . Rates at some ages very good . People like the duck . How much did polish falcons rates go up ?

was just doing a quick search here on Silac and cancellation, came across your post and think youre still around. lol.

Just had a call from a 75 yr old female referral, she's on Silac Med Supp plan F. Premium through the roof, she's relatively healthy, just wet macro degen and two cholesterol meds, non smoker, good weight...didn't have the underwriting guide so called and Humana said not a problem on the wet MD....wasn't sure...no shots til Oct.

Checked other supps can take her from $463 month, to $162 on humana G, normally would do Aetna, and maybe still will but raw taste with them atm.

My question is when new plans effective, what's the best way to go about having her cancel Silac...just call and cancel or are they going to want new dec sheet, copy of new card, wet ink signature letter and all that?

No . Let her call immediately and take her Silac off bank draft . Tell them to bill her quarterly .You want to do this so she’s not double drafted. Write new app and get approval for 9/1 . Once approved wait till she gets her new card and she can call and cancel any time in the next month . Actually she doesn’t even need to cancel it. It will self cancel after 30 day grace period expires .
