Six New States to Lawsuit Challenging Federal Health Care Law

From what I understand about the legislation, no state is under any obligation to administer an exchange. It's opt-in just like Medicaid.

What the states are fighting is the new regulations that make getting on Medicaid 133% of FPL that will cause the states a great deal of financial harm.

States are also obviously worried that if the mandate becomes "enforceable" - their citizens will be spending more money on health insurance which means less money spent on shopping and services in their state.
