Regardless of how the chips fall . . . in 2025 Medicare will pay LESS towards the cost of drugs, carriers and beneficiaries will pay more.

And . . . there may be a number of $0 comp PDP's

Keep in mind that the taxpayer (federal govt) pays 20 - 40% of the cost of drugs in the catastrophic phase.

I believe Medicare pays 20% in the catastrophic phase. Don't think it will be more than that.

and last year Medicare paid 60% in catastrophic phase.

No problem; it's crazy that carriers are going from 20% in catastrophic to 60% in 2025.

This is the primary reason that the PDP and MAPD market is going to be wild this year. Even Supplement clients are going to be shopping due to the increases expected in PDP premiums and what is happening overall with the constant increases from Supplement carriers.
