So How is Business?

My agency has been open for a little less than a month and I am running into the same problem. I don't have a second to do any planning. My focus is commercial as well and thank god so far so good. THere are two of us in the office, but we are thinking about hiring an assistant for the paperwork stuff.
 
Good plan Jack, paying someone to do the $12/hour stuff is what the successful agents do. I'll never understand agents complaining about being tied down with paperwork....when they could be selling


Busy in our office as well. Commercial is up and PL is off to a little slower start than 2010. 2010 was our best year ever so keeping up the pace in 2011 will be the game plan
 
Selling Farmers has killed me the last 2 years. I have been at break even with new business vs. lost retention. Prices are the biggest factors for me. Farmers is about 30% higher.

30% higher in this economy will put you in the bread line quick...so what are you thinking of doing? Jumping ship? Or is there a light at the end of the tunnel with them?
 
Business is GOOD right now I started this year with 2 good big accounts Commercial ( condo associations) I just finished one on 2 high rise buildings in S FL premium is nice over 600k and working on another one with premium over 960k. they are lots of work but the pay back is good... have 2 more for 300k in premium but they are not up for renewal until July.. So yeah in the Commercial site I am very busy. Thank God

Can I ask how you got your foot in the door with those clients?

I am in NY and would love to break into the commercial property business. Property Managers are a tough crowd to get in with here.

Cold calling my friend and off course its not about what you know but WHO you know my family help me at the beginning with one building and from there on Cold calling, you are absolutely right they are tough but creating a presentation, and selling the Board members is even harder.
