Some Final Expenses Might Not Be So Final

At least, with the exception of the misuese of money, the problem seems to be one of negligence or incompetence.. Not so with this case in our area.

Aint No Way to Go: The Ghosts of Chickamauga

I read the story about that guy and he must have been completely nuts. He went to more trouble disposing of those bodies and covering up his deeds than he would have had he done it right in the first place. He gave concrete mix back to some families passing it off as ashes. He had to be mentally unstable.

Last month I was helping a client look over an estimate that a funeral home gave to a friend of theirs. While skimming over the costs I noticed a $1500 charge for a casket key. Now I am very familiar with funerals and I have never heard of a casket key. In my experience most just have a latch. Some you need a allen wrench to close. When I called the funeral home and ask why they were charging $1500 for a 25¢ tool, the director told me it was a mistake and removed the charge....

I wonder how many people have paid $1500 for a " casket key".
