Sons of Norway

Only in the FE forum could we start a thread about a Midwest Fraternal and end up with Texas Blues (SRV)!:1laugh: But since we're there, I'll give a shout out to the Granddaddy of Texas Blues (and really of electric blues), T-Bone Walker:

(It might interest you blues loving insurance men to know that several of his relatives are clients of mine!)

Since Texas is open I am seriously looking to try the River Walk. I hear there are some music venues there. Any suggestions?

I haven't been down there in forever! The place I would have recommended, I just checked and learned that they closed down permanently. I hear good things about Sam's Burger Joint. They're not right on the Riverwalk, but not far. I've never been there, but it looks like a good variety of acts, mostly Fri, Sat, & some Sundays:
Sam's Burger Joint | San Antonio's premier live music venue hosting music legends to upcoming bands.
One other recommendation isn't music, but you should never visit San Antonio without dining at Mi Tierra, which is walking distance from the Riverwalk. I'm a severe Mexican Food addict. This is by far the best Tex-Mex style I've ever eaten anywhere in the country. Again, I haven't been there in forever, so I don't know if it would still be my favorite. But they still enjoy an excellent reputation. If they don't seat you where you can see the mural, be sure and ask them to show it to you!

Thanks, Not stuck on the River Walk as much as live music. Also considering TN. LA also but expect that it will be packed.

Austin, TX is kind of the live music capital of the world. You could hit SA for a few days, then drive over to Austin for a few more!
