Just saw this guy on the News promoting his company. Speeding Insurance! HaHa, get a ticket, car accident, run a red light, whatever, They pay the ticket for you! And they will pay the differece for your premium increase!

You've probably just been lucky with the radar detectors, because most of the time, they only tell you you're getting ready to get a ticket. When they go off, it's usually from a door opener on a building (yes, they're radar controlled) or a burglar alarm, and those don't normally issue tickets. When an actual police radar sets a radar detector off, it has allready clocked your speed. Modern radar is very low power, and doesn't spread like it used to. Also police are smart, and sit just after curves and over hills which points the radar gun away from oncoming traffic, which even further restricts its useful spread.
