As a long-time car enthusiast who recently switched from selling PL to CL, it seemed a natural fit to try and specialize in working with performance shops.

Unfortunately, I've found that from the moment there is "performance," "sport," or "tuning" in the name, most standard carriers seem to shy away from writing them. Are any of you aware of good, standard markets to place these risks?

I'm in DE, by the way. However, we're also licensed in PA & MD.

I do them with Erie but they are not desired and have to fit certain underwriting guidelines.

You can try Utica First or Lancer but not sure how pricing will be.

Nationwide is going to be on most of these accounts you're looking at in our area and they're priced well.

Indeed, Nationwide (Harleysville) writes most garages around here.

Utica doesn't want the risks, and we're not appointed with Erie nor Lancer. Those are two carriers I should contact about it. Thanks!
