I need to find out if I can save someone some money. Anyone have at their fingertips the Standardized Plan I Rates for a 71 year old female with Emphysema. State of Georgia.

I know she would be Group 2, Level 2.

Currently has Plan I, and Plan N for her would be $177.37. She doesn't mind paying a copay for a doc visit, nor the Part B deductible.

Plan I went away in June. With the Modernization, Plan G is now almost identical to what the old Plan I was (with the addition of the Hospice benefit).

I was able to talk to someone at UHC/AARP and found out what she pays. Plan G is not offered through AARP in Georgia, and Plan N is $6 more per month.

She is staying put with Plan I at $171/month.

She can't go anywhere else, due to her Emphysema.

Bob,

Depending on her zip code, if she lives in the most expensive zip codes 300-303, 308-309, 311, 313-314, 399 and uses tobacco a Plan N with United of Omaha is only $128.96 for a Plan N.

United of Omaha Plan N is GI in GA so there will be no problem in writing her.

If you don't have a MOO contract I can get one for you right away so you can write it if you are interested.

Give me a call.

Keep in touch with her....I would assume rates on old standardized plans will be rising considering its a closed pool of people and the healthy ones will move on to new plans over time.

If she has emphysema, she most likely is taking some expensive Rx's. Plan I has a $1250 cal yr max. She is probably hitting that max early in the cal yr.
I would move this woman to a med supp & Part D Rx card 1.01.11.
She would pay the LEP on the Rx card because Plan I is not "creditable".
Just my 2 cents.

If I had to guess, I'd say she already has Plan I without the Rx benefit Given her health history, how could she move to another plan without a GI option?

Not everyone lives in CA!

I'd bet she has the embedded Rx coverage of Plan I, $250 deduct, 50/50 to $1250 cal yr max.
I'd also bet she hits her cal yr max in June or July each yr.

Okay, I'll take that bet. One Guinness will be the stakes.

If I'm correct, you come to So Cal and buy it. If I'm wrong, you come to So Cal and I'll pay.
