Starting an Independent Agency

Seeking a position with an Independent Agency Near New Smyrna Beach, FL. Or considering opening my own agency. Eight years experience in the P&C industry. Hold a 220/215 license. Would like to start my own agency. In Florida you cannot operate a P&C home based business. Seeking direction as to obtaining appointments with carriers etc.
