Starting Independent in Ohio Vs. Farmers

Hey Everyone,
I have mentioned on here before that I am currently a Reserve Agent for Farmers Insurance. I used to work for State Farm Insurance before deciding to make the move. At State Farm I was a team member, and really needed more control and money! I hooked up with Farmers recently, but have questioned where the money is. I am unsure about being independent, because it is really hard without much start up funds. I would like to see some other put in some advice on this.

I would also like to be able to offer more than one company, but I know starting out it is going to be hard to get appointments. How would I go about just going through some type of program like insurance noodle, superior access, or others. Also, I was wondering how it worked in Ohio. Once you get your insurance license can you just use insurancenoodles and be authorized to sell insurance through them since there is no appointment actually made? If anyone is from ohio and has some pointers, I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm not sure what your question is. Getting appointments can be done, although you need to be careful who you go through. Sportsfan can perhaps give you a few pointers.

I was talking with him about similar issues a few weeks ago.

I was just mainly asking about the steps needed to become independent, or better off starting out with Farmers and going from there. Also, is it advisable to just use insurance noodle to sell insurance rather than getting direct appointments?
