Has anyone used Sterling Life Insurance for their "Medicare Advantage and Sup Plans?"

They are more popular up north...but they are avaiable in the south as well...

thanks for your input...

They have MA plans and MAPD plans, both PFFS. I've run into folks that have them. It doesn't seem to be a very good plan. Wellcare and Coventry beat them to death on benefits and cost in this area.

I believe you are talking about 2 different companies here.
Sterling Life offers Medicare Advantage (which in TN operates only with captive agents).
Sterling Investors offers Medicare Supplements.

Not the way I understand it. Sterling Life is pretty much nationwide and offers both Med Sups and Med Advantage. I know their PFFS plans and their marketing systems. Not my cup of tea and only competitive in some rural areas without PPO or HMO companies.

quote from site

If you are eligible for Medicare and are looking for a Medicare Insurance Plan, the Sterling Life Insurance Company (Sterling) family of Medicare Insurance Plans offers you a broad range of choices, including Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans. You are able to choose the type of coverage and premium that best meet your needs. Most plans allow you to use the doctors and hospitals of your choice. And, you are allowed to move between the Sterling plans should your healthcare needs change (subject to federal limitations on Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug plans). As you navigate our site, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

If you're talking about Sterling Life, the Combined Insurance affiliate, they offer both here in MT but are switching everyone to their MA plan which I think is crazy considering we don't have the network/doctors here. I personally think it's a churning issue but that's just me. Since they're a Combined company I don't have a high opinion of them.

I interviewed with them for a DM position a year or so ago. I was not impressed by their aggressive marketing policies or their regional manager. I was offered the job but I didn't want it. I have been independent too long to take a 'job', but I was curious so I interviewed.

Sterling sucks is of course an opinion, and dependent on your point of view, but it seems appropriate. ;)
