I just purchased a new document scanner and would love to be able to store my files somewhere online so I can get to them from any computer if necessary. I would also like to be able to acess them from my Blackberry if need be.

Does any have suggestions for a site that would be best for this?

As far a blackberry, I don't know. I use a portable HD to store information I scan. You may not want to store client files online. A security problem is easier to avoid if you're not leaving information there.

Depends on what it is you're trying to store. If it's client apps you could do it using sugarcrm.

Yes, applications, contracting paperwork, etc.. So it must be really secure.

You can use a really strong password and use a secured sight host. SugarCRM works great. If you want to PM me I can give you a demo login you can play with to see how it works. vTiger is pretty good too. Actually, I may have been mistaken, vTiger will store docs, I'd have to check on Sugar. Either way, I have versions of both installed you can play with.

Just get a hosting acct with someone and upload them to your ftp and then you can access them from any computer. Of course you will password protect them.

There are tons of free websites like this one that will allow you to access them anytime.

ALso a zip flash drive is easy to keep up with.

I use filezillia, and have a folder that my scanner saves on and then it uploads to my ftp. My files are password and site protect, but if I want others to see the files I can make them public or give them a password to see them.

I started out by simply using an external hard drive.

Not but a few weeks ago, something happened and I lost 3 weeks worth of stuff off of my computer and the ext. HD.

That's when I finally decided to pay the $54.95/yr for Carbonite. Works great for me and no more worries!

If you need it, let me know I have a promo code.

Just get a hosting plan like godaddy 5.99 a month for like 1000 gigs or whatever it is and then upload your files to your ftp/hosting acct using filezillia for free....YOu will always have a back up of your files secure and also be able to host your website or anything you need.
