Stupid Question

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I am a newbie and there are many pages of threads. So I thought I'd save myself some time and just post my question. I have been contacted by Bankers Conseco Life Insurance here in my home town. What's it like to work for them? How are you paid? Any info you can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks for letting me be part of your Forum.

check your State's dept. of insurance's complaint ratio, in Ohio they are number 1, not a good thing!

Conseco?? Why would you use such bad language?? Please don't ever say that word again.

Worse company I've ever dealt with and that is saying a lot.

I wrote $6,000,000 of premium one year and it only cost me $250,000
in losses!

Insurance may not be the answer. You need steady income right now. Maybe best to find a second job...put some money in the bank and put off a sales-related job option for a while.

Just my opinion.

We need to talk. It is too difficult, for me, to try to explain everything by typing here. I see no need for you to be licensed in other states. There is plenty of business in Alabama for you to handle.

I'm not sure you currently have enough accurate information to make a well-informed decision.

I want to thank you all for your information and help with this. After reading all your responses and further research, I have decided to stick it out at my current job for a little while longer and see what happens. Hopefully, something will open up for me soon. Thanks again all!

That is probably a good idea. Being a captive agent can sometimes be good when there is an excellent training program in place, however, it can also be detrimental in competitive situations when your product selection is so limited.
