Sweet.

I just got an earful from a client.....guy is on an HSA plan.....needs a colonoscopy (second one of these this month)......doctors office told him it would be covered 100% on a non-grandfathered plan....he wants to dump his current carrier now.....

I of course pointed out that more than half (in my experience) of colonoscopys come back with a diagnosis code which kicks the claim out of the preventative benefit and back to the deductible/coinsurance.....I also mentioned that I cannot write his 3 kids anywhere right now......

I imagine we'll all be hearing alot more of this as the "Obamacare bailout for doctors" gains traction.......should be great for trend next year......

Someone will eventually sell him a "non-grandfathered plan."

The title of this thread is "SWEET". So OK, I'll try to get back on topic. Aetna's customer site has a document that tells the customer to instruct their physician to bill a colonoscopy as "preventive" in order to get it for free. It's strange advice from an insurance company, but SWEET news. Especially for the gay stallion luver. Did this help?
